I’d been exploring darker, moody, Autumn colours and I really needed a blast of rainbow colours. I have created three paintings inspired by the winter pansies planted in my gravel pot garden which have flowered throughout the change of seasons.
Rachel incorporates texture and collage media into each layer of her paintings; vintage books, newspapers, tissue paper, printed paper, along with acrylic inks, paints and mediums to create depth and texture. She creates her own printed papers and draws with collage and acrylic paint until the colours vibrate.
