This was a fun open-minded project which began with me joining the edges of the canvas together using bold colours and wide brush marks. I was working in the kitchen and my children thought it looked like the slither.io computer game. I introduced some of the elements from the game which connected with me, yellow explosions, dark blue grey, embossed circles and luminous ‘stitches’ and I got stuck in. Often with my work there is a textiles feel. I love the results. It captures fun and playfulness, night and day, darkness and mystery. Pure escapism!
