I created this painting in September when the rose bush was in full bloom. I tried a new technique, dribbling ink across the canvas to create a web of rose stems, which looks very ‘climbing’ rose. I really like the end result, it has a darker, gothic feel.
Rachel incorporates texture and collage media into each layer of her paintings; vintage books, newspapers, tissue paper, printed paper, along with acrylic inks, paints and mediums to create depth and texture. She creates her own printed papers and draws with collage and acrylic paint until the colours vibrate.
The painting wraps beautifully around the edges therefore framing is not necessary. It is professionally finished with gloss varnish which can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Each painting comes ready-to-hang.
This original piece will give your home a fabulous blast of colour hung on a light or dark wall.
